I'm from Rhode Island: Isn't that in New Jersey? PT2

So, I moved to Tennessee from Rhode Island a couple decades ago. One thing that has never ceased to amaze me is how people wave at strangers or talk to them in the drive-thru window. One amusing example is Dutch Bros. Coffee.

My son went to Dutch Bros. the other day and came home with a question. Do the employees there seem like NPCs from an RPG? The short answer is yes, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. They ask questions about your day, what plans for the weekend, holiday, kids, etc... So, it begs another question. If I answer the prompt incorrectly, do I have to return to the quest's beginning and start over? Do I have to recover sp or hp? How would that be done?

This line of thought brought us to another place, Chik-Fil-A. If we answered incorrectly to the prompts, would we need to go to Chik-Fil-A for a faith blessing and renew our stamina for the quest? Do we have to wave at several strangers to restore our hit points?

To be clear, a one-finger wave was NOT a friendly gesture when we lived in Rhode Island. We did NOT ask random people about their life plans. It is still all a little baffling to us. Did we wear our approachable gear? Did we level up? Did we complete the quest?

And what about doctor's offices? The random strangers in the waiting room who tell you way TMI. Do we get a reward for those as well?

Although the culture is quite different than where we came from. We have assimilated well enough to garner fewer raised eyebrows and blank stares at our odd sense of humor or way of speaking. The pace is slower, and the Sarcasm is closer to what we were used to than can be imagined. They just wrap it in prettier word paper.
